THE COMFORT TEMPERATURE MEN is defined as the lowest temperature at which an ‘average’ adult male (25 yrs. / 70 kg / 173 cm) can expect to sleep comfortably in a relaxed position. This range is designed to ensure a comfortable night's sleep, particularly for those who are not accustomed to colder environments.
THE EXTREME TEMPERATURE rating is a survival only rating, applicable to an ‘average’ adult. This is the lowest temperature at which the person is expected to survive in a sleeping bag, without necessarily sleeping comfortably. At this temperature, there is a risk of hypothermia if exposed for more than brief periods, and there is also a significant risk of other cold-related injuries such as frostbite.

The NOMAD® Fornax 480 is a lightweight three-season mummy sleeping bag, made with a 100% recycled shell and liner. With this sleeping bag, you can travel light and support sustainability. Ideal for a stay in your tent, a mountain hut or your hammock!
The Fornax 480 weighs only 940 grams and can be packed into the included compression sack, forming a compact bundle of 28 x 17 centimeters. This makes it easy to carry in your backpack or bike bag.

Durable and lightweight materials
Both the exterior and interior of the Fornax 480 are made of ultra-lightweight and 100% recycled polyester. The interior is treated with Polygiene® technology, an antibacterial treatment that keeps the sleeping bag odor-free and fresher for longer, reducing the need for frequent washing. The 3D Polardown filling of this sleeping bag consists of a waterproof down mix of down and polyester fibers.
Features
The Fornax 480 has a comfortable hood with a drawstring to tighten it around your head and retain more heat. Additionally, this sleeping bag features extra insulation in the chest area and a 3D footbox construction that provides more freedom of movement for your feet, ensuring warm feet during sleep.
The Fornax 480 has a two-way zipper with a padded draft strip and two sliders that can be opened or closed independently of each other. This allows you to create ventilation at any desired location by partially opening the zipper, such as at your legs. The zipper has an 'anti-snag construction,' ensuring it won't get caught in the sleeping bag material.
Small, valuable items can be stored in the designated pocket inside the sleeping bag. If you need to unzip your sleeping bag at night, no problem – with the glow-in-the-dark zipper pull, you can always find your zipper.
After use, you can easily let the Fornax 480 air out with the hanging loops at the bottom.
Recommended body length
The recommended maximum body length for this sleeping bag is 195 centimeters.
Comfort temperature
The Fornax 480 is suitable for colder nights. The comfort temperature is around 2 °C for women and -4 °C for men. Never use this sleeping bag in temperatures below -20°C.
