As an outdoor brand, we’re constantly looking for ways to contribute to the well-being of both nature and people. In our design and production process, we consciously choose sustainable materials and fair working conditions, and we ship all our collections CO₂-neutral. We hope that our products are used for many years with joy and satisfaction. But what happens after that?
Even when a product reaches the end of its journey, many of its materials still hold value. Instead of letting them go to waste, we wanted to give them a new purpose. Together with Fraenck, a design studio that specializes in upcycling, we transformed 30 old sleeping bags into a unique collection of four designs, each one produced with care and crafted under fair conditions.

Fraenck helped us create a limited-edition collection featuring designs that are quintessentially NOMAD: items you can take along on a hike, while camping, or during your daily commute. Each piece is crafted from the iconic Blazer sleeping bag, the very model with which NOMAD began back in 1974.

Fraenck is a brand from the Netherlands that specializes in upcycling. They have their own collection and also design for clients such as Bever, Zeeman, and NS. At Bever, there’s a drop-off point for old gear to be repurposed; for Zeeman, the Fraenck team created a clothing line made from old shopping bags; and for NS, they transformed used banner fabrics into new bags and travel accessories.
Every item is carefully handmade in the Fraenck studio in Arnhem by a team of talented designers. As a social enterprise, the studio creates opportunities for people who deserve a fresh start: from individuals with mental or physical challenges to refugees and those taking their first steps back into the workplace.
