This lightweight, two-season mummy sleeping bag only weighs 720 grams and has a compact packed size of 23 x 12 cm. Ideal for backpacking, long distance hikes or bicycle rides where every gram counts.

Quality materials for ultimate comfort

This sleeping bag is made of super-light, breathable polyester which feels soft and airy on the skin, even during warmer nights. The Orion 290 is filled with a mixture of water-repellent down and synthetic hollow fibre, ensuring outstanding warmth and comfort. We know that it’s usually the arms and feet that get cold fastest when you lie still for a night. Therefore, we have added extra insulation in the chest area of this sleeping bag, as well as a '3D foot box' structure to keep your feet warm.

Features

The Orion 290 comes with a comfortable hood which can be tightened around your head with a pull cord to retain warmth. It also has a handy 2-way zipper with a length of 155 cm that can be opened from both ends; this can be useful when you need some fresh air around your legs on warmer nights for example. Inside the sleeping bag you’ll find a pocket for storing small, valuable belongings that you want to keep close while you sleep. Want to get out of your sleeping bag at night? No problem, you’ll always be able to find your zipper thanks to the glow-in-the-dark zipper puller.

The Orion 290 is finished with a PFC-free coating, giving it water-repellent properties without the use of harmful chemicals. The lining has been treated with Polygiene Stays Fresh® technology. This antibacterial treatment ensures that the sleeping bag remains fresh and free from odours on a long term. It also means the sleeping bag doesn’t have to be washed as frequently.

We recommend to air out your Orion 290 after use. This is easily done by hanging the sleeping bag by the suspension loops at the bottom. The sleeping bag comes with a compression stuffsack for compact storage. To store the sleeping bag for a longer period, use the roomy, breathable mesh storage bag. This is recommended to keep the filling from clumping together, resulting in a less effective insulation.

Recommended body length

The recommended maximum body length for this sleeping bag is 190 cm. If you are smaller or taller, we recommend to check out our Orion S or Orion XL sleeping bags.

Comfort temperature

The Orion 290 is suitable for cooler spring or autumn nights. Approximate comfort temperatures are 7°C for women and 2°C for men. This sleeping bag should never be used at temperatures below -12°C. If you intend to travel in colder regions, our Orion 400 or even 900 may prove more suitable.
